When professional photographer JB Jeff Jeffries (James Stewart) is confined to a wheelchair with a broken leg, he becomes obsessed with watching the private drams of his neighbours play out across the courtyard. When he suspects a salesman may have murdered his nagging wife, Jeffries enlists the help of his glamorous socialite girlfriend (Grace Kelly) to investigate the highly suspicious chain of events.

Out Stealing Horses

Trond (Stellan Skarsgard, 67-year-old widower, whose past has riddled him with unhealed wounds. Having lived most of his adult life in Sweden, the death of his wife in a car accident sends him back to his Norwegian homeland. Although he arrives in the depths of a gleaming, snow-laden winter, Trond’s memory drifts back to the summer of 1948 when a sequence of disturbing tragedies shattered his once blissful childhood.

As Trond’s recollections are further crystallised by the presence of his neighbour Lars (Bjørn Floberg), the two men relive the events that both shattered and enmeshed their families. Set amongst breathtaking landscapes, Out Stealing Horses is an epic coming-of-age drama which deftly charts a gamut of emotions from love, loss and disappointment to guilt and irreparable lifelong traumas.

The story of two brothers, David and Jack Meredith, set between the two World Wars. David (Matt Day) lives on the Greek Island of Hydra isolated from his emotional and physical past. Through reminiscence we witness the experiences of a young boy growing up in post war inner suburban Melbourne, in a home torn by his father’s violence and memories of war. Providing insight into social and political issues relevant to the time we follow Davide from boy to man as he follows his ambition to become a writer and resolve his own personal battles.

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

US Western 1966

Italian epic spaghetti Western film directed by Sergio Leone and starring Clint Eastwood as “the Good”, Lee Van Cleef as “the Bad”, and Eli Wallach as “the Ugly”. Its screenplay was written by Age & Scarpelli, Luciano Vincenzoni, and Leone, based on a story by Vincenzoni and Leone. Director of photography Tonino Delli Colli was responsible for the film’s sweeping widescreen cinematography, and Ennio Morricone composed the film’s score, including its main theme. It was an Italian-led production with co-producers in Spain, West Germany, and the United States. Most of the filming took place in Spain.

Documentary film directed by Shaunak Sen. It is produced by Shaunak Sen, Aman Mann and Teddy Leifer under the banner of Rise Films. The film follows siblings Mohammad Saud and Nadeem Shehzad, who rescue and treat injured birds in India
